Goal Setting

In the last post, I talked about some of the reasons we set goals. In this post, we’ll get into the details of not only establishing SMART goals, but also documenting them, which is just as important.

I was a sales engineer throughout most of my career. Every year at the national sales meeting we would go through the exercise of goal setting. I hated it, I guess because they made us do it. I worked for three companies during those years, and they all attached a great deal of significance to the process. They would start with the company forecast, break that down to regions, than individual salespeople, and give us all our quotas. We would then break our quota down to the number of sales calls necessary to obtain that level of business, based upon averages. We would take it all the way down to number of phone calls per day necessary to get the required number of appointments. You get the picture.

I hated goal setting because the company set the objectives. In this section we will start from scratch and define our own goals. Believe me, it is more fun.Continue reading

Powerless No Longer to be released as an audiobook

I am pleased to announce that Dogma Debate, LLC, a leading producer of audio books with a secular theme, has been granted a license to produce and market an audio version of Powerless No Longer. I am excited that Powerless will now be available in at least three formats: audio, trade paper, and ebook.

Dogma Debate plans to release their audio version sometime in November of this year. When it is released, I will link the purchasing locations on this website. This marks another step forward for Powerless, which has enjoyed some success since its release earlier this month. In the next few months, it will be reviewed in several places, both online and in the print media. I will, of course, be linking them here.

Thank you again for your interest in Powerless.

Hard copy version of Powerless published on Amazon

The hard copy version of Powerless No Longer is finally available for purchase on Amazon, along with the Kindle version. Here is the link to the book’s page. I would like to thank all of you for your support over the years, and I hope the final product meets your expectations.

Kindle version of “Powerless” published on Amazon

For those of you who have been waiting for this book to be published, I uploaded the completed manuscript of Powerless No Longer to Amazon yesterday, and today the Kindle version is available for purchase. It has been a long slog, and I’m really happy that it’s finally done. The hard copy (trade paper) version should be available in a few days.

The Kindle version is here on the Amazon web site. I will post another announcement when the hardcopy is available. The first chapter and part of the second is available to read on Amazon, and I will continue to post excerpts here.

I thank all of you who have followed this website over the years, and I’m just sorry it took so long to finish the book.
